After the Yes: Planning the Rest of Your Evening in Paris
The proposal itself usually lasts a few minutes. What happens for the rest of the evening is worth planning almost as carefully, since it is where the initial excitement actually gets to settle in.
Book the celebration dinner in advance, not after
Trying to find a table at a good restaurant in the hour after getting engaged, especially on a weekend, rarely goes well. Reserve somewhere in advance and simply do not tell your partner why, or frame it as a normal dinner reservation for the trip.
Tell people, or don't, on your own timeline
There is no obligation to announce anything immediately. Some couples want to post and call family within the hour. Others prefer to sit with it privately for a day before telling anyone. Both are normal, and it is worth briefly agreeing on this before the day itself so neither partner feels rushed or held back.

A small window for photos beyond the proposal itself
If a photographer was already there for the proposal, many couples extend the session by fifteen or twenty minutes afterward, once the adrenaline settles slightly, for a second set of calmer, more natural photos rather than only the initial reaction shots.
Keep at least one detail unplanned
Couples who script literally every minute of the evening sometimes report it feeling more like an event than a moment. Leaving even a small stretch of the evening open, a walk with no destination, a bar chosen on the spot, tends to be what people remember fondly afterward.
